  • What is SPARSH?

    • • SPARSH is a diabetes management support program where trained counselors provide customized tips and advice on managing diabetes. They help the individual to keep the disease under control and stay healthy. The services are delivered over the phone.

      • SPARSH is offered as a complementary service for the treatment of diabetes.

      • You can avail yourself of the SPARSH services only with the recommendation of your doctor. In case your doctor or his/her team has not recommended SPARSH, then kindly check with them before registering your name for the services.
  • What are the services that SPARSH provides?

    • Diabetes can be managed well with awareness, good lifestyle, and regular medication. SPARSH provides assistance and tips for you to manage the condition well.

      • At SPARSH, care counselors will discuss topics that will improve your awareness about how to manage diabetes well and avoid health problems attributed to poor diabetes control. The counselors will also assist you with knowledge and tips for imbibing a healthy lifestyle.

      • An individualized diet plan will be charted for you, where the counselor will discuss specific modifications that can be made to your diet, so as to suit your needs and preferences. Simultaneously, you will learn ways to improve your physical activity and take care of yourself.

      • SPARSH keeps your doctor informed about your progress and the recommendations your counselor has made, so that your doctor can consider them when treating you.

      • Services are delivered on all days of the week, from 8 am-8 pm, in a language of your choice. Currently, support is available in Hindi, Kannada, Oriya, English, Tamil, Bengali, Malayalam, Marathi, Gujarati, Punjabi, and Assamese.
  • How do I enroll myself in SPARSH?

    • Enrollment is easy and can be done by the following ways:

  • What’s next after enrollment in SPARSH?

    • • Within two days of submitting your request, you will receive a call from a SPARSH care counselor to take your oral consent and enrol you into the program.

      • Your dedicated care counselor will call you with a prior appointment and provide SPARSH services in a language of your choice. The first four calls will be weekly; thereafter, your counselor shall call once a month.

      • After enrolment, you will receive a Welcome Kit that will contain:
      • Diabetes Education Material
      • A Health Management Diary
      • Tips on eating out, foot care, etc.
  • What are the benefits of joining SPARSH?

    • • You will know how to keep diabetes under control and prevent health problems due to it.

      • You will gain knowledge about the disease and how you can play a role in managing it well.

      • You will have a dedicated care counselor, who will support you with regular tips and advice to help you stay ‘on the right track.'
  • In what instances will the SPARSH services be discontinued?

    • Services will be discontinued in the following instances:

      • Voluntary withdrawal, i.e., if you do not wish to continue with the program.

      • Your doctor's recommendation to discontinue with the program.
